Virginian-Pilot February 15, 1946
Martin Joseph Powers, 60, husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Johnston Powers, died at a 
local hospital last night at 11:15 o’clock. He was a native of Waterford, Ireland, 
and had been a resident of Norfolk for the last 30 years, residing at 927 
Harrington Avenue at the time of his death.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to the Sacred 
Heart Catholic Church for funeral services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Interment will be 
in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments today at 8:30 p.m.
