Poyner died at his home in South Norfolk Heights yesterday morning at 10 o'clock after a lingering illness of more than a year's duration. The deceased was a native of North Carolina, but had lived here for 20 years, following his vocation, brickmasonry, with much success and distinction. In addition to a widow, he leaves several sons and daughters and a host of friends, he being widely and favorably known. He was a member of Berkley Lodge No. 167, A.F.& A.M., of this place. The funeral will be conducted from the family residence Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. **************************************************** The funeral of the late Thomas H. Poyner will take place at the home, South Norfolk Heights, this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The Rev. P.S.C. Davis, of Elizabeth City, N.C., a former pastor of South Norfolk Baptist Church, will conduct the services. The deceased was a member of the above named church. He will be buried with Masonic honors, having been a member of Berkley Lodge No. 167, A.F. and A.M., Berkley. The interment will be made in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley. Poyner was conducted from his late residence in South Norfolk Heights Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock, with the Rev. V.W. Bargamin, pastor of Liberty Street M.E. Church, officiating. Masonic ceremonies were read at the grave. The interment was in Magnolia Cemetery. The pallbearers were as follows: Messrs. Jesse Nichols, Caleb West, J.C. Yeo, William Stark, J.W. Jones and Eugene McCloud.
