He was a son of the late Thomas and Mrs. Elizabeth Poyner, of Currituck, N.C. He lived in Berkley thirty years, but returned to his old home recently. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Myrtle Poyner; a sister, Miss Belle Poyner; a brother, Ben T. Poyner, of South Norfolk. The body arrived in this city yesterday afternoon via the Norfolk Southern and was taken in charge by funeral director, J.R. Williams. The funeral will be conducted at the home of his brother, B.T. Poyner, near Lakeside Park, by Rev. T.H. Dimmock, pastor of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church, this afternoon at 3 o'clock and burial will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
