Prepneit, 77, an organizer of the Norfolk Central Labor Union and its only surviving charter member, died at a Norfolk hospital last night at 6 o'clock following a long illness. Mr. Prepneit also was a member of the Postal Clerks Association and the Tailors Union of Norfolk. He was a native of Germany and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 50 years, residing at 625 West Thirty-fifth street. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Mary Seaward Lee Prepneit; a son, Frank Carl Prepneit, of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Josephine Lawson, of Norfolk; a step-daughter, Mrs. H.F. Barr, of Norfolk; two stepsons, A.W. and George W. Lee, of Washington; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted in the James V. Derry Funeral Chapel Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. John F. Ward, rector of the Church of the Ascension, Episcopal, will officiate.
