He was 79 years old. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, on May 1, 1946, Edward lived a life full of curiosity, quiet strength, and simple joys. He attended Frederick Military Academy in Portsmouth, VA, which helped shape the discipline and resilience he carried throughout his life. A true treasure hunter at heart, Edward was a devoted coin collector and metal detector enthusiast, always on the lookout for pieces of the past buried just beneath the surface. His impressive collection of rare coins, wartime artifacts, and unique jewelry was a reflection of both his passion and patience. Edward was a skilled handyman and avid boater. He was known for building and fixing anything he could get his hands on. He also enjoyed taking his boat out on the Chesapeake Bay whenever he could. He also loved playing bingo at St. Pius Catholic Church, where he and his family were longtime members. Bingo nights were a favorite pastime, especially when shared with his longtime friend and neighbor, Annie Owens. Throughout his life, he worked in many different roles, including at an antique shop in Norfolk and as a pharmacy technician at the Naval Hospital. He brought dedication, humility, and hard work to everything he did. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward F. Pressler and Margaret M. Pressler and his sister, Delores A. Bolton. Edward is survived by his nephews, Blaine Christian Cotton and Jared A. Cotton (wife-Joanna), his niece Merrie G. Gray (husband-Brian), and several great-nieces and -nephews. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. A private ceremony will be held in his honor.
