Mr. Pressler, a native of Philadelphia, had retired from the Norfolk Fire Prevention Bureau after 27 years. After retiring, he became an inspector with the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Margaret McKevitt Pressler; a daughter, Delores A. Bolton, of Chesapeake; a son, Edward J. Pressler, of Norfolk; a sister, Evelyn Otten, of Houston; a brother, Lawrence S. Gilliam, of East Islip, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. A Joyful Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Pius X Catholic Church by the Rev. McKinley E. Williams. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk.
