VIRGINIA BEACH - Mary Ellen Prestridge went to be with our Lord Dec. 22, 2008, 
after a courageous 6-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was predeceased by 
her husband of 54 years, A.B. "Bud" Prestridge and a son, William John Prestridge.

She is survived by two sons, A. Burt Prestridge and wife, Sandi, of Norfolk, and 
Bob Prestridge and wife, Bonnie, of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Maryjo Prestridge, 
of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also 
survived by a sister, Jo Gregg of Larchmont, N.Y.

She also leaves behind her incomparable friend of many years, Floy Roy. Thank you 
Floy for your devoted caring and, most especially, your friendship.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, in St. Pius X 
Church, Norfolk, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends in the foyer 30 
minutes prior to Mass. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling 
the arrangements.

Her family is very appreciative for the comforting and loving care she received at 
Our Lady of Perpetual Help and, in particular, to the wonderful staff of the Rose 
Pavilion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of 
Southeastern Virginia, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502 or online
