The service was conducted by the Rev. R. T. Adams, pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. A native of Elberton, in Surry County, VA, Mr. Pretlow spent a quarter of a century in Norfolk. He lived at 902 South Main street. Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Susie McKee, Mrs. Lucy Savage, Misses Thelma, Daisy and Malvenia Pretlow of Norfolk; and five brothers, Henry, Sydney, Alexander, and Paul Pretlow of Norfolk and James Pretlow of Philadelphia.
