He was a native of Baltimore, Maryland and was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Colts and Orioles. He graduated from Loyola College in 1942 and later earned an MBA from Dartmouth College. He was in the Army Air Corps during World War II where he served his country as a pilot instructor in heavy bombers. Mr. Price retired as treasurer of Royster Guano Corporation where he was employed for over 30 years. He also worked as a real estate agent for Virginia Realty Company until 2015. He was a man of great integrity who generously shared his time and talent. He served as former president of the Better Business Bureau of Southeastern Virginia and former president of the Pinewell Civic League. He also was a member of the Norfolk Rotary Club. He gave a great deal of his time to Norfolk Catholic High School, serving as past president of the Athletic Association and on several boards. He was very proud of the fact that all seven of his children graduated from Norfolk Catholic. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church since 1955, having served on several boards and as reader and Eucharistic minister. He was active and athletic throughout his life and was still playing tennis at the age of 92. He is survived by the love of his life, Mary Kelly Price, his wife of over 67 years, and his seven children; Dennis Price and his wife Kathy, Don Price and his wife Barbara, Peggy Barney (predeceased by her husband, Steve), Kelly Price (predeceased by his wife, Chris), Mary Kay Price Lawrence and her husband, David, Eileen Price and her husband, Bene, and Joan Price-Bayer and her husband, Hayden, 12 grandchildren; Mel and Kevin (Maiga) Price, Bret and Kelly Barney, Laurie Price, Kyle (Whitney) Aaron and Blake Lawrence, Nickolas and Maria Hoffmann, Storm and Maury Bayer, and three great-grandchildren, Serene, Autumn, and Oliver Bayer. The Price family would like to express their gratitude to Caregivers Markie and Tina, for the loving care and devotion they showed. Frank Price was a truly great man who was respected and loved by many; most of all, his family. A Christian Wake Service will be held Friday, March 4, 2016, at 7:00 pm at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, with visitation to follow. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 154 W. Government Avenue, Norfolk.
