Born February 24, 1944, Carol passed from this life January 2, 2021, after a 
prolonged struggle with major health issues. She was preceded in death by her 
first husband, Martin Nunnally Fentress, and her parents, George Andrew Bailey, 
Jr., and Ruth Katherine Murphy Bailey. Carol is survived by her loving husband, 
Douglas L. Price, by her son, Martin Nunnally Fentress Jr., his wife Whitney 
Carrington Fentress, and their children, Graesyn Perry Fentress, Brentton Nunnally 
Fentress, and Sawyer Carrington Fentress, and her sister, Kathleen Bailey Basden 
and husband R. Martin Basden.

Carol was a native of Norfolk from the Norview area and lived in Tidewater her 
entire life. A graduate of Princess Anne High School, class of 1962, Carol was the 
first woman president of the Norfolk Kiwanis Club, she was the administrator for a 
prominent Norfolk OB/GYN practice for thirty-five years, and an active Realtor.

Active in regional and state politics, she managed campaign efforts for a State 
Delegate and a candidate for Norfolk City Council. People trusted Carol.

She was a generous person, with a marvelous sense of humor. A woman of great 
determination, she struggled mightily to maintain a sense of control in failing 
health.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, memorial services have been postponed until 
a time when friends and family can gather for appropriate celebration of her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Miles Memorial 
Methodist Church, 9450 Granby Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23503.
