The Virginian Pilot Friday November 1, 1968

Norfolk-Mrs. Vera Guy Price, 80, of 723 Redgate Ave., a fraternal and church 
leader, died in her home Thursday morning after a brief illness. 
A native of Norfolk, she was the widow of Forest Denver Price Sr. and a 
daughter of James Ringgold and Mrs. Gratiotte Brown Guy. 
She was the oldest active member of Freemason Street Baptist Church and a 
member of United Daughter of the Confederacy, Daisy Chain Circle of King’s 
Daughter, West Ghent Garden Club and Ghent Neighborhood League.
She is survived by four sons, Forest D. Price, Jr. of Portsmouth, Dr. James 
Guy Price of Norfolk, Dr. Robert Lee Price of Falls Church, and Douglas 
Scott Price of Kensington, Md.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be conducted in Cox Funeral Home Saturday at 11 a.m. 
by William L. Lumpkin of Freemason Street Baptist Church. Burial will be in 
Cedar Grove Cemetery. 
The family will be at the home of Dr. James Price, 6107 Rolfe Ave.
