Virginian-Pilot, December 02, 1899


The obsequies of Mr. John T. Prince, who died at his home on East Main Street 
Wednesday night, were held from St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 11 o’clock a.m. 
yesterday. Requiem mass was celebrated by the pastor, Rev. Father J.J. Doherty, 
assisted by Rev. Father T.J. Wilson, of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The 
Hiberian and Emerald orders, of which the deceased was a member, attended the 
funeral in a body. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. The remains 
were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery. Following were the pall-bearers: Messrs. 
W.W. Dey, George M. Heppel, Charles H. Consolvo, B. Wall, Samuel Davison, Neil 
Moseley, John Lawler and James V. Trehy.
