Pritchard Dies; Operated Country Club Wharton Hobday Pritchard, 60, died at a Norfolk hospital Thursday at 9:05 p.m. after an illness of eight years. At the time his health failed, he was lessee and operator of the Chamberlin-Hampton Country Club, Phoebus. A native of Berkley, he had lived in this section most of his life. He was a son of the late Peleg and Mrs. Mary Collier Pritchard. He was a member of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church and past master of Berkley Lodge No. 167, A.F. & A.M. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Etheridge Pritchard; a daughter, Miss Ruth Curtis Pritchard, of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Miss Kate Pritchard, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Harry Summerford, of Norfolk County; two brothers, Samuel J. Pritchard, of Norfolk. and J. Raymond Pritchard, of Virginia Beach, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home today at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. Beecher L. Rhodes, D.D., pastor of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
