Mr. Privott, a native of Franklin, had retired as an area manager for the Virginia State Employment Commission. He was a member and former trustee of First Baptist Church Bute Street in Norfolk. He had served on the board of directors of First Baptist Church Home for the Aged. He was one of the founders of Chesapeake Men for Progress. He was a Mason and a graduate of Hampton University. Survivors include his wife, Willie M. Privott; a son, George W. Privott of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Lula Wilson of Virginia Beach; and a brother, Howard Privott of Franklin. The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church Bute Street by the Rev. Robert G. Murray. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends may join the family at 721 Malbon Drive. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
