PROCTOR - At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Capt. W.H. Hancock, 212 Berkley 
Avenue, Sunday Sept. 24, at 10:30 a.m., MRS. ANN MARIAH PROCTOR, widow of the 
late James R. Proctor and daughter of the late Littleton and Rachel Hawkins, 
Washington, N.C., aged 78 years, 5 months and 9 days.
Funeral from St. Thomas Episcopal Church THIS (Monday) AFTERNOON, Sept. 25, at 5 
o'clock.  Interment Magnolia Cemetery.  Friends invited.

Mrs. Ann Mariah Proctor, widow of the late James R. Proctor and mother of Dr. 
J.A. Proctor, of this ward, died yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the 
residence of her daughter, Mrs. Captain W.H. Hancock, 212 Berkley avenue, after 
a brief illness, in the 79th year of her age.
The deceased was a daughter of the late Littleton and Mrs. Rachael Hawkins, of 
Washington, D.C., an active member of  St. Thomas Episcopal Church and one of 
the best known residents of the ward.
Mrs Proctor who had been enjoying good health until a few days ago, when she was 
suffering from some slight trouble, returned from Washington, her former home, 
where she had spent a month with relatives and the end came very unexpectedly.  
Three daughters, also survive her - Mrs. R.T. Crisp, Mrs. Lee Barnton and Mrs. 
A.M. Fitch, all of this city.
The funeral will be conducted from St. Thomas Episcopal Church this afternoon at 
5 o'clock.  Rev. E.W. Cowling, rector, will officiate and the interment will be 
in Magnolia Cemetery.
