She was born in Norfolk and taught for 15 years in both the Charlotte and Mecklenburg school systems. She was Episcopalian and a graduate of Virginia State College in 1976. She was a member of the Sigma Gamma Rho sorority. She is survived by her husband, Oscar R. Pruden, Jr.; a daughter, Brandy Nakia Pruden; a mother, Mrs. Lurline Robinson; a father, Eddie T. Robinson, M.D.; a stepmother, Mrs. Mary Robinson; a brother, Eddie Robinson III; a mother-in-law, Mrs. Thomasine N. Pruden; a father-in-law, Oscar R. Pruden, Sr.; three sister-in-laws, Mrs. Regina Robinson, Mrs. Josephine P. Hawkins, and Mrs. Rose S. Pruden; and three brother-in-laws, Michael, Kevin, and Bernard Pruden; six aunts; four uncles; five nieces; four nephews and a host of relatives and friends. A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John's AME Church, 545 E. Bute St., Norfolk, Va. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery . The family will receive friends and the procession will leave from 2825 Woodland Ave., the home of her mother, Mrs. Lurline Robinson. Friends will also be received at the home of Mrs. Thomasine N. Pruden at 2724 Corprew Ave. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Hale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
