Born May 26, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine Mainor Nicholson. She was preceded in death by her only sister, Myrtle Nicholson Clark and a daughter, Lendora Denise Pruden . A native of Norfolk, she was a lifelong member of St. John's AME Church and a graduate of Booker T. Washington Class of 1944. Survivors include a daughter, Josephine P. Hawkins; four sons, Oscar R. Jr., Michael T., Edward K. and Bernard F. Pruden ; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a cherished friend, Bernadine E. White; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive visitors at the home of Bernadine White, 542 Louisa St., Norfolk, today from 1 until 4 p.m. Homegoing services will be held Saturday at noon at St. John's AME Church, 545 E. Bute St., by the Rev. John D. Burton. Family and friends will assemble at Hale Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. John's AME Church Mortgage Fund.
