Mr. Pruitt was employed at Asphalt Roads and Materials as an operator for three months. He was a member of Collinswood Free Will Baptist Church in Portsmouth. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the Air Force Reserve. Survivors include his wife, Inez Pruitt; a daughter, Mary Pruitt of California; two sons, Markley Pruitt and John Pruitt, both of Arkansas; his mother, Betty H. Lunni; two stepdaughters, Donna F. Mizell and Brenda R. Mizell, both of Portsmouth; two stepsons, Michael Mizell of Lawrenceville, Va., and Shelton Mizell of Portsmouth; four sisters, Betty Wallace, Sherri Pruitt, Thelma Pruitt and Brenda Pruitt, all of Little Rock; three brothers, Kenneth Turner, Terry Pruitt and Johnny Pruitt, all of Little Rock; and seven grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Graves Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Julius Cooke. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will be at 285 Dale Drive, Portsmouth.
