Roughton, died Thursday in The Hermitage, Virginia Methodist Home, Richmond, after a long illness. A native of Spartanburg, S.C., she had resided in this area for 70 years. She resided at 1305 Ormer Rd. before moving to Richmond. She was a member of Park Place Methodist Church and the Three Score and Ten Club. She was the daughter of the Rev. John Wesley and Mrs. Emma Crider. Surviving are a son, William C. Roughton of Norfolk; two step daughters, Mrs. Howard E. Keiser of Lynnhaven and Mrs. Benjamin K. Smith of Norfolk; five grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home Saturday at 2 p.m. by Dr. Walter C. Gum, pastor of Park Place Methodist Church, and the Rev. E. Ernest Renn, pastor of Oaklette Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
