He was a lifelong resident of Norfolk and was a son of the late Jordan A. and Caroline Cunningham Pugh III. Mr. Pugh retired as a systems analyst with civil service at NAVSYSCOM. He was a real estate broker with Coldwell Banker. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the Virginia Association of Realtors, founded the NAVAIR Fishing Club and was past president of the Army-Navy Fishing Club. He was a member of the George Washington Chapter and Norfolk Chapter of S.A.R. He was a member and past president of the Old Dominion University Alumni Association Capital Area Region, and formerly served on its Board of Directors. He was a member of the Ad Asta Honor Society at Augusta Military Academy. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and was an intelligence chief, aviation, S-2, VMA-233. Mr. Pugh worked for civil service, Department of Defense, from 1966 until his retirement in 1989 and then was with UNISYS Corp., DOT/TCC. Mr. Pugh attended the Norfolk Academy and graduated from the Augusta Military Academy in Fort Defiance, Va. He studied as an undergraduate at the College of William and Mary and the University of Virginia and did graduate work at the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ardith Rockar Pugh; a son, David Anthony Pugh and wife Jacqueline of Strasburg, Va.; and a brother, Henry C. Pugh of Norfolk. A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. F. Scott Hennessy. Private burial will be held at a later date. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Sargeant Memorial Room of the Norfolk Public Library or the Sheltie Rescue of Southeastern Virginia c/o Kathy O'Pezio, 2932 Drum Point Crescent, Chesapeake, VA 23321.
