Mrs. Mariah Pugh, one of the prominent members of the older section of 
Campostella, died at her home Tuesday, February 21, after a short illness. Mrs. 
Pugh was a woman of marked ability and pleasing personality and was beloved by 
those with whom she came in contact. Funeral services were held at First Calvary 
Baptist Church, Norfolk, Rev. O. J. Allen, pastor officiating. Rev. Allen spoke in 
glowing terms of the beautiful life of the deceased. Revs. Miles Gordon, Barnes, 
and Boyd also spoke. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
