Chesapeake - Doris L. Cooper, 87, left this earth and met her heavenly Father 
early Sunday morning, August 13, 2017. A very talented poet and singer, she led an 
active and dedicated life of service to God, family, and community. Born and 
raised in Norfolk, VA, she spent her life tending to and loving all children, her 
church, and Norfolk State University. Her funeral service will be held at 12:00pm, 
Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Saint Mary's Basilica, Chapel St. A wake service will 
be held 7pm-8pm, Monday, August 21, 2017 at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley. 
The family will be receiving friends at 2016 Sunset Maple Lane, Chesapeake.
