Virginian Pilot September 28, 1993

James Edward Purnell of the 1100 block of Wilson Road, a packer, died Sept. 23, 
1993.
Mr. Purnell was born in Rocky Mount, N.C. He was employed with Abco Moving and 
Storage Co.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Purnell; two daughters, Debra Jones and 
Jacqueline Purnell; three sons, Demetrius Purnell, James Purnell and Nathaniel 
Purnell; his mother, Annie Willingham of Norfolk; his father, Kitch Willingham 
of Norfolk; one sister, Jacqueline Butler; one brother, James Robinson; 10 
stepchildren; and a host of grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Second Calvary Baptist Church 
by the Rev. Geoffrey Gunns. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Friends may 
join the family at 1800 St. Denis Ave. Graves Funeral Home is handling 
arrangements.
