Norfolk Journal and Guide, Sep 1,1962
Mrs. Ruth Purvis of 2705 Febian avenue was given funeral services Sunday at 
Shiloh Baptist Church.  The Rev. A. E. Johnson delivered the eulogy.  Interment 
was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

A native of City Point, Mrs. Purvis’s only survivor is a sister, Mrs. Gustava 
Bates of Norfolk.
