Mr. Benjamin Puryear, of Johnson avenue, the husband of Mrs. Mabel Puryear died 
Saturday, August 1st, after a lingering illness. His funeral was held at the 1ST 
Baptist Church of which he was a member, Tuesday, August 4th. Rev. R. H. Bowling 
conducted the services which were very impressive. Mrs. Lucinda Day rendered a 
beautiful solo. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. He leaves a widow, father, 
mother, three brothers, two sisters and other relatives.
