Elliott. Puryear lingered at the hospital of St. Vincent de Paul, where he had been carried for treatment immediately after the shooting, until a quarter to three o’clock yesterday morning when, after months of suffering, he breathed his last. When he was just wounded, it was thought that he could not live more than a few days, but his strong constitution alone enabled him to hold as long as he did. ... The funeral of the unfortunate Puryear will take place at 3 P.M. today from the hospital.
