Gilbert Alvin Putze, 64, of 1129 Sheppard Ave., a native of Henrico County who 
lived in this area 40 years, died Saturday in a hospital. He was the husband of 
Virginia Lee Stephens Putze.
He was retired from the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission after 30 
years of employment and was a member of Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
Other survivors include two daughters, Shirley Virginia Martin, of Camarillo, 
Calif., and Suzanne Yvonne Cherry of Norfolk; two sisters, Edith Gusti and 
Barbara Ann Conway of Richmond; and three grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today in Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. Irwin M. 
Lewis Jr. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, has charge of 
arrangements.
