Norfolk Virginian Pilot July 21, 1948
Mrs. Hattie Mae Quaethem, 54, of 1844 Edgewood Avenue, died yesterday at 6:30 
a.m. at a local hospital after a short illness.
She was a daughter of Henry T.F. and Hattie E. Scheuermann and a native of 
Berkley.  She lived at the Edgewood Avenue address 15 years and was a member of 
Christ Methodist Church, Bayview.
Besides her husband, Clarence W. Quaethem, she is survived by four sisters, Mrs. 
J. James Davis and Mrs. Nellie Rountree, of South Norfolk; Mrs. H.C. Askew, of 
Norfolk and Mrs Janie Dickerson, of Rockingham, N.C. and two brothers, W.O. 
Sherman, of Norfolk and G.E. Sherman of Long Beach, Calif.
The body was taken to the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where 
services will be held tomorrow at 4 p.m.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
