 Virginian Pilot January 7, 1986

Dorothy O. Quarles of 1008 Fairlawn Ave., a native of Pittsylvania County, died 
Sunday in her home. 
Mrs. Quarles had retired from New York City Hospital as a medical secretary 
after 28 years. She was a member of Mount Nebo Baptist Church in New York. 
Survivors include two brothers, Gerald Gilbert of Long Island, N.Y., and Kenneth 
Gilbert of Virginia Beach.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Calvary Cemetery by 
the Rev. Joseph N. Green. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be 
at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society. Graves 
Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
