He was the husband of Mrs. Luise Kelly Quist and son of the late Nels and Ellen Carlston Quist. He was a native of Erskine, Minn., and had lived in Norfolk for the past 35 years, residing at 605 Westover Ave. at the time of his death. He was a member of Christ and St. Lukes Episcopal Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Fred Edwin Quist Jr., Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Mann and Mrs. Marie Burke, both of Seattle, Wash.; four brothers, Carol O. Quist, Crookston, Minn.; Nels A. Quist, Dayton, Ohio; Victor J. and Elmer Quist, both of Denver, Colo. ; two grandsons, Fred Edwin III and Roger Kelly Quist, both of Norfolk. The body was taken to Cox Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Richard R. Beasley. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
