NORFOLK - Lawrence M. Raines Sr., 65, of 702 Redgate Ave., Apt. 5, a native of 
Foxwell and the husband of Mrs. Doris Henricy Raines, died Saturday in a 
hospital.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Norfolk Elks Lodge 38 and 
had retired from Naval Air Station, Norfolk, after 20 years.
Other survivors include a son, Lawrence M. Raines Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; three 
sisters, Mrs. Harney Murden of Norfolk, and Mrs. Carroll Somers and Mrs. J. R. 
Sullivan of Foxwell; and three grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 1 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, Norfolk. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will be 
at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9, and a Christian Wake Service will be 
said there tonight at 7:30.
