Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, October 4, 1993 
Dorothy Merchant Rainey, 78, of 1312 W. 42nd St., died Saturday after a
long-term illness.

She was a native of Norfolk, Va. She was the (mother) guardian of Mrs. Denise T.
Lindsey of Norfolk. In addition, she is survived by six grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; and several other relatives. Funeral services will be held
at Graves Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1993, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Johnnie L.
White will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery
