Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, December 5, 1998 
Geraldine Dodson Randle, 67, of the 2700 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd.,
passed away in her sleep on Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at her residence.

Mrs. Randle, affectionately known as ``Duckie'' or ``Gerri'' by her friends and
family, was born of the late Amos and Mattie Dodson in Norfolk. She attended
Norfolk public schools and graduated from the Norfolk Division of Virginia State
College. She then earned a master of arts degree from Hampton Institute.

Mrs. Randle retired from the Norfolk Public School System in 1988 where she had
been employed for over 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute
St. She was the founder of the Delicados Inc., a national civic and social
organization with 10 chapters and approximately 200 members along the East Coast.

Mrs. Randle is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Joseph R. Randle; a
daughter, Erica Walker Joynes of Durham, N.C.; two granddaughters, Alexis and
Brooke; a sister, Joyce Dodson Washington of New York, N.Y.; a brother, Amos S.
Dodson of Norfolk; and several cousins, nieces, family and close friends.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, Bute St., on Monday at
1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery . Wake services will be held at
Hale Funeral Home Sunday at 6 p.m.

Mrs. Randle will truly be missed and always loved by her family and friends.
