Randolph, a well known and highly esteemed citizen, died at his residence on Montalant avenue yesterday morning, after a lingering illness of several months, from paralysis, the second stroke causing death. He was a coach painter by trade, and was engaged in the carriage painting business prior to his illness. He served through the late war in the Confederate army and navy and was considered a very gallant soldier. He was also a member of the I.O.O.F. A widow, one son and several children survive him. His funeral will take place from St. Paul's P.E. Church tomorrow afternoon at o'clock. Randolph was held yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock from St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Berkley. Middleton Lodge No. 145, I.O.O.F. of Berkley and Jerusalem Encampment No. 4, I.O.O.F., of Norfolk, of which the deceased was a member were well represented. The New Daily Pilot May 22, 1896 The funeral of Mr. R.G. Randolph took place yesterday afternoon from St. Paul's P.E. Church, and was largely attended by relatives and friends. The services were conducted by the rector, Rev. Robert Gatewood. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery.
