                          DIED IN NEW MEXICO

Mr. Albert H. Raukam, a well-known resident of this place, died of consumption 
at Fort Stanton, N.M., on the 12th inst.  Mr. Raukam resided on Payne street and 
was an engineer on the steamer S.A. Call until about four months ago, when he 
resigned on account of failing health and went West.  The deceased was about 45 
years old and leaves a widow and a number of friends to mourn his loss.  The 
remains are enroute to Berkley and will arrive the last of the week for 
interment in Magnolia Cemetery.

The remains of the late Albert H. Raukam, who died on the 12th instant at Fort 
Stanton, N.M., were brought here yesterday and are now lying at Undertaker 
Williams' establishment.  The funeral services will take place from the Memorial 
M.E. Church this afternoon at 3 o'clock, the Rev. W. Asbury Christian 
officiating.  The deceased was a member of Middleton Lodge No. 145, I.O.O.F., 
and will be buried with Odd Fellow honors by this lodge.

The funeral of the late Mr. Albert H. Raukam was conducted from the Chestnut 
Street M.E. Church yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with the Rev. W. Asbury 
Christian, the pastor, officiating.  The remains were interred in Magnolia 
Cemetery with Odd Fellows' honors.  The floral designs were numerous and 
handsome.
