A funeral service was held Thursday for Mrs. Maggie Ray of 1810 Brown avenue at
Citizens Funeral Home.  The Rev. L. E. Willis officiated.  Burial was in Calvary
Cemetery.

A native of Moyock, NC, Mrs. Ray is survived by her husband, John Ray;  four
sons, Dallas H. Lynch of Portsmouth, William Ray of Petersburg; Andrew Ray of
New York; and Samuel Ray of Baltimore;  three daughters, Mrs. Viola Clanton,
Mrs. Maggie Darby and Mrs. Maybell Parker of Norfolk;  two brothers, Samuel
Bullock and Malzion Bullock of Portsmouth;  a sister, Miss Willie Mae Bullock of
Eenade, DE;  seven grand-children; and a  great-grandchild.
