NORFOLK — Mary Lettie O’Brien, 76, of 833 W. 43th St., a native of Portsmouth, 
died Thursday in a hospital.
Mrs. O’Brien had retired from the civil service. She was a member of Blessed 
Sacrament Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Julian Chambers O’Brien; a daughter, Edna Smith, 
and a son, Milton E. Rayfield Jr., both of Virginia Beach; a sister, Annie 
Ashcroft; and two brothers, Henry Creekmore and Lee Creekmore, all of 
Portsmouth; and two grandchildren.
The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today in St. Mary’s Catholic 
Cemetery by the Rev. Thomas B. Nee. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive 
Chapel, is handling arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders 
Association of Hampton Roads, P.O. Box 2794, Norfolk, Va. 23501.
