Malissa O. Raymond, 87, passed away Aug. 11, 2003 in Sentara Careplex Hospital, 
Hampton. She was a resident of Coliseum Park Nursing Facility and a member of 
Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis C. Raymond 
and a grandson, Terence M. Singleton.

She is survived by a daughter, Louise R. Singleton (Arthur); a sister, Rena O. 
Gaffney of Jacksonville, Fla.; a granddaughter, Arlette L. Smith (Frederick); two 
great-grandchildren, Jason Louis Douglas and Jasmyne Malissa Douglas; and many 
nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wm. M. Johnson & 
Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin. A funeral Mass will be held 
Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of St. Mary, Norfolk, the Rev. John J. Dorgan, 
pastor. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
