The Virginian Pilot Sunday August 20, 1978
Mrs. Bertha A. Reed of 805 Park Ave. died Thursday in a nursing home. She 
was a native of Norfolk and the widow of Marion Reed.
She was employed for many years as a dietician at Norfolk Academy and a 
member of St. Paul C.M.E. Church, the church choir, and the Missionary 
Circle. She attended Henderson Institute, Henderson, N.C. and Norfolk 
Mission College.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Ida Carter of Norfolk; eight nieces; and 
five nephews.
A funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. in St. Paul C.M.E. Church by the Rev. 
Larry Howard. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with Hale Funeral Home in 
charge.
