Virginian Pilot and The Portsmouth Star June 12, 1955
Mrs. Annie Evans Reed, 79, widow of Harry Henderson Reed and daughter of the 
late William Henry and Mrs. Dorothy Culpeper Evans, died Saturday at 6:30 a.m. 
at a Norfolk hospital.
A native of Norfolk and a lifelong resident of this section, she lived at the 
Old Dominion Hotel, Princess Anne County.  She was a member of the First Baptist 
Church and a past president of the Fidelis Class of that church.
Surviving are three sons, Raymond B. Reed and Cecil H. Reed, of Norfolk and H.V. 
Reed of Chicago; six grandchildren, Mrs. A. Bush Enos, Mrs. Joseph Young, Mrs. 
Robert A. Keeton, Miss Margaret M. Reed, Mrs. J. Edmond Raiford, and Miss 
Shirley Anne Reed and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments by the Rev. Stuart Grizzard, pastor of the First Baptist Church.  
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
