E.B. Hatcher. The attendance was very large, the Sunday school attending in a body. The interment was in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley. The death of this young man was particularly sad. About a week ago young Reed took the shotgun to go after a nest of snakes which had been annoying the household for several days. In climbing a fence the trigger of the gun was caught and the gun exploded. The shot tore the flesh of the arm so that Dr. E.W. Baxter, of Huntersville, who was called, decided that amputation was necessary. Three days ago the operation was performed at St. Vincent's Hospital. The patient rallied and would have recovered but for the complication of lockjaw. This resisted all the skill of the physicians and carried a fine, bright and manly young man to his death, which occurred Tuesday night.
