Virginian-Pilot, 11-8-1921
Mrs. Ella Brooke Reed, wife of Lloyd T. Reed, and daughter of James and 
Rosalind Brooke Henderson, died suddenly at 12:30 o'clock Monday morning at 
the family residence, 1112 Tunstall Avenue, aged 76 years.

As far as could be ascertained, Mrs. Reed was in good health up to 10:30 
o'clock Sunday night, when she complained of a disagreeable feeling in her 
chest. Her daughter, Miss Lottie Reed, gave her some medicine, which, it was 
thought, would relieve her, but she grew steadily worse. Miss Reed then called 
a doctor and some of the neighbors, but before they reached the house Mrs. 
Reed was dead.

She was a native of Norfolk, where she had spent her entire life, and was a 
member of one of the old families of this section.

She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Miss Lottie L. Reed, and a son, 
Harry H. Reed; also three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be help Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the family 
residence, and interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Norfolk.
