Mrs. Mahalia Reid, one of Norfolk’s most useful citizens died at her late 
residence on Smith Street, Tuesday morning, December 27th. Her death came as a 
great shock to her relatives and friends. The funeral was held from St. Paul C. M. 
E. Church, of which she was a consistent member, Thursday afternoon, Rev. McLin 
and Rev. L. L. Berry officiated. Interment took place in Calvary Cemetery. She is 
survived by her mother and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Archer, and Mrs. Georgia B. 
Roberts, and a numer of nieces and nephews.
