Jerry D. Reid, of 2615 Middle street, died March 28 in a local hospital 
following along illness. Funeral services were held April 1 at Mt. Olive 
Baptist Church with the Rev. Mr. Madden officiating. He was assisted by Drs. 
J. B. Henderson, and J. Jasper Freedman.

Mr. Reid, a native of Chester, SC, was the son of the late Jerry D. and Mrs. 
Nancy McClure Reid. He lived in Norfolk more than 60 years, and was a member 
of Queen Street Baptist Church more than 40 years.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Laredo M. Reid; a brother, Robert Reid, of 
Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Sallie Davis, of Chester SC; a daughter, a grandson, 
Harry Reid of Norfolk; and a nephew, the Rev. Sumpter Wood, of Baltimore MD.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with King's Funeral Home in charge.
