Funeral services for Miss Burnette Reid, who died at her residence at 1718 
Hamlin avenue, Norfolk, Jan. 25, were held Jan. 28 at Bank Street Baptist 
Church with the pastor, Dr. J. B. Henderson, officiating.  Burial was in 
West Point Cemetery with B. F. King’s funeral home in charge of funeral 
arrangements.

Miss Reid was the daughter of the late Noah and Mrs. Amy Reid.  She was a 
life-long resident of Norfolk.  For many years she was employed in the 
insurance field by the Richmond Beneficial Insurance Company.  Later she was 
employed as one of the early social workers of Norfolk.

She is survived by two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Reid and Miss Ida Reid;  one 
brother, William Reid, Washington, DC;  a nephew, Elsworth Reid of 
Washington DC;  one niece, Miss Amy Reid, and other relatives.
