Norfolk - Mrs. Lucy Reid of 913 St. Paul’s boulevard died in a hospital after 
short illness.

A native of Norfolk, she was the widow of Willie Reid and a daughter of the late 
William and Mrs. Mary Smith.

She was employed at Goodwill Industries 11 years and retired in 1962.

She was a member of Queen Street Baptist Church and its Widows Club, Dorcas 
Club, and Missionary Society and formerly was a choir and Sunday School member.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Williams of New York and Mrs. Sallie 
McPherson of Washington.

Services were held in Queen Street Baptist Church by the Rev. J. Jasper Freeman.  
Burial was in the family plot of Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in 
charge of arrangements.
