Mr. Reid was born in Goldsboro, N.C. He retired after 20 years and was retired for 19 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church Bute Street, was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Big Brother class and the male usher board, past president of the Home for the Aged, past master of Rising Sun Lodge (NU)2 and past patron of Adeline Ward Chapter 197 O.E.S. Lancaster was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a dedicated Christian and full of love for his family, friends and community. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Reid; a daughter, Mrs. Terri Wainwright of Charleston, W.Va.; three nephews, Thomas, Richard and Charles Starke of Texas; a sister, Mrs. Irene Taylor of New York; a son-in-law, Chester Wainwright of Charleston, W.Va.; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Reid of Goldsboro, N.C.; a grandchild, Cheston Lancaster Wainwright of Charleston, W.Va.; and two nieces, Deloris Giebert of Washington, D.C., and Shirley Starke of California. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church Bute Street, Norfolk, by Dr. Robert Murrary. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Arrangements by E.A. Hughes Funeral Home.
