Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, August 19, 2000 
Joyce Dorinda Reid, 66, of the 5100 block of E. George Washington Hwy., died
Aug. 17, 2000, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Born in Norfolk, she was a homemaker and the daughter of the late Ketora and
John Dozier. She was a member of Antioch Church of Christ Holy Disciples, where
she was the First Lady and mother of the church. She was also a missionary,
member of the Helping Hand Committee and Usher Board, Sunday School director and
Bible Study instructor.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Anthony Reid; four daughters, Denise
Willliams, Karen Bennett, Crystal Branch and Winnifred Reid; a stepdaughter,
Michelle Reid; a son, Carl Williams Sr.; three sisters, Sandra Drummond, Joanne
Wilson and Deborah Bass; four brothers, Leon Dozier, Anthony Dozier, Charles
Dozier and Rodney Dozier; eight grandchildren, Joyce Y. Reid, Christopher Reid,
Carl M. Williams Jr., Nicholas A. Williams, Samuel K. Reid Jr., Dorinda Branch,
Samantha Reid and Thaddeus C. Bennett Jr.; a great-grandchild, Anthony M. Reid;
and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. at Antioch Church of Christ Holy
Disciples, 601 Partridge Ave., Chesapeake, by the Rev. Hubert H. Wilson of New
Greater Mount Sinai. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery . Family will receive
friends for remembrance and visitation today from 7 to 8 p.m. at P.G. Thomasson
Funeral Services Inc., 1080 N. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake.
