He was the senior member of the well known firm of James Reid & Co., wholesale and retail bakers, and came to Norfolk some time in the forties, since which time he has built one of the finest establishments of the kind in the South. He leaves a widow, three sons and three daughters to mourn their loss. The funeral will take place from his late residence Sunday at 4 o'clock. ******************************************************************************* Funeral of Mr. James Reid The funeral of this well-known citizen whose death has been announced in a previous issue of THE VIRGINIAN, took place from his late residence on Holt Street Sunday afternoon, and was very largely attended. Rev. B.D. Tucker, of St. Paul's P.E. Church, conducted the services after which the remains were borne to Elmwood Cemetery and interred. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers.
