Virginia Pilot November 9, 1940

J. Gray Reid,80, one of Norfolk’s oldest natives died Friday afternoon at his 
home in Merrimac Apartments. He was a son of the late George Reid, also a 
Norfolk native, who lived to be more than 100 years of age. The deceased was a 
retired grain broker. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anne Tebault Reid and a 
sister Mrs. H. H. Stabler of Baltimore. Funeral Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at 
Oliver’s.  Burial in old Cedar Grove Cemetery, Norfolk.
